Alameda County Sheriff’s Office (2007-2018)
Hands On Training was heavily involved in the multi-discipline emergency response exercise- Urban Shield since its inception in 2007. Videos of our and many other scenarios can be found on YouTube under, “Urban Shield highlight videos”. HOT was contracted every year to produce at least 2 hyper-realistic scenarios, and a training component for EMS, Fire and law enforcement. We developed a well-deserved reputation for creating realistic, highly sophisticated scenarios that were challenging for the competing law enforcement teams, as well as for the EMS teams that rotated through. The just-in-time training beforehand and flow through the various scenarios have been consistently evaluated as, “some of the best training I have ever had”. Over 1800 medical and health care providers have been through our Urban Shield scenarios over the 12 years of its existence. Hands On Training also provided at least 1 rope base scenario every year for the competing law enforcement teams to rotate through.
